ATLANTA – One lucky college graduate is making room for a quarter-million dollar win. Joseph Crandall, a recent graduate from the Georgia State University, won a $250,000 top prize playing Jeep Outdoor Adventure.
The 23-year-old purchased his lucky ticket at Sydney Food Mart, 639 Morosgo Drive N.W. in Atlanta, and claimed his prize at Georgia Lottery headquarters in downtown Atlanta Thursday.
Crandall, who lives in Roswell, received the lottery-funded HOPE Scholarship while enrolled at the university.
“I saw the Jeep ticket and thought maybe I’d win a truck,” he said. “I scratched it at home, saw the dollar sign and the prize and said, ‘This can’t be real.’ ”
Crandall considers his win a stroke of luck.
“I’ll buy a car then save the rest,” he shared.
Georgia Lottery players can tackle tough terrain, winning one of 15 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, taxes paid, plus $25,000 for customization with Jeep Outdoor Adventure, a $5 instant ticket. Players also have the opportunity to instantly win one of 1,200 $250 Eagles Nest Outfitters gift cards.
Players can enter non-winning tickets for a second chance to win. The Georgia Lottery will award 600 camping gear prize packs, 200 Eagles Nest Outfitters gift cards and one Jeep Wrangler vehicle throughout five second-chance drawings.
