ATLANTA – Surprise was the reaction of one Cobb County man upon discovering a quarter-million dollar prize. Darrell Garner of Marietta won $250,000 playing Jeep Outdoor Adventure, a Georgia Lottery instant game.
Garner, 32, and his fiancée, Candice, each had a ticket in hand when he scratched the winner.
“We both started crying,” he shared. “All we could think about was our family.”
The couple have three children ages 10, 12, and 13. Publix Super Market #0725, 2900 Delk Road in Marietta, sold the lucky ticket.
Garner is a supervisor for a transportation company.
His winnings will go toward the couple’s wedding and their family.
“We’ll be married within the year,” he exclaimed. “We’re going to buy a house to accommodate all the children.”
Georgia Lottery players can tackle tough terrain, winning one of 15 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, taxes paid, plus $25,000 for customization with Jeep Outdoor Adventure, a $5 instant ticket. Players also have the opportunity to instantly win one of 1,200 $250 Eagles Nest Outfitters gift cards.
Players can enter non-winning tickets for a second chance to win. The Georgia Lottery will award 600 camping gear prize packs, 200 Eagles Nest Outfitters gift cards and one Jeep Wrangler vehicle throughout five second-chance drawings.
