ATLANTA – In stunning fashion, an Albany mother has won a second prize from the Georgia Lottery within months. Cynthia Royster, 55, won a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee playing the instant game Jeep Outdoor Adventure.
The mother of three also won a $10,000 prize in July from the monthly Maximum Green Extra Chance drawings. She paid bills with her winnings and gave a portion of the prize to her children.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Royster with keys to her new vehicle Wednesday afternoon at Cass Burch Chrysler Dodge Jeep, 4164 N. Valdosta Road in Valdosta. She plans to give the Jeep to her son who has Cystic Fibrosis.
“He’s really happy,” she said. “He’s tickled, and it’s the color he wants.”
Royster said she feels lucky to be able to give her son, who frequently travels to Atlanta for treatment, the prize.
“There wasn’t a question in my mind about giving this Jeep to him,” she shared. “I wanted him to have something reliable to go up and down the road.”
Fast Break Food Store 104, 2824 Old Dawson Road in Albany, sold the winning ticket.
Georgia Lottery players can tackle tough terrain, winning one of 15 new Jeep Wranglers, taxes paid, plus $25,000 for customization with Jeep Outdoor Adventure, a $5 instant ticket. Players also have the opportunity to instantly win one of 1,200 Eagles Nest Outfitters gift cards valued at $250.
Players can enter non-winning tickets for a second chance to win. The Georgia Lottery will award 600 camping gear prize packs, 200 Eagles Nest Outfitters gift cards and one Jeep Wrangler vehicle throughout five second-chance drawings.
