Columbus store sells $400,000 lottery ticket

ATLANTA – Lady Luck has struck a Columbus store. Corner Cupboard #0003, located at 3857 Milgen Road in Columbus, sold a Georgia Lottery ticket worth $400,000.

The lucky top prize ticket was for the instant game $400,000 Grant.

Mareike Butler of Phenix City, Ala., claimed the prize Monday.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
