ATLANTA – For the second time this week, a Georgia Lottery player has won a Decades of Dollars top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years. Someone in Evans won the game’s top prize Monday. A Smyrna retailer sold a top prize ticket for Thursday’s drawing.
The lucky ticket was purchased at L&S Food Mart Inc., 4495 S. Cobb Drive in Smyrna.
Three players in Macon, Pembroke and West Point each won $10,000 in Thursday’s drawing.
Winning numbers for Thursday’s Decades of Dollars drawing were: 2-9-12-25-26-42.
Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim.
Decades of Dollars is a multi-state game played in Georgia, Virginia, Kentucky and Arkansas.
The game offers a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years or a one-time cash option amount of $4 million. The game has a $10,000 second prize.
Decades of Dollars drawings are held at 11 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Tickets cost $2 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Decades of Dollars will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
