22-year-old Catoosa County cashier links $104K prize

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

ATLANTA – A Catoosa County grocery store cashier has lined up a Georgia Lottery win. Heather Hall of Ringgold played the instant game 2012 Cash Jubilee and won $2,012 a week for a year, totaling $104,624.

“I still, honestly, don’t believe it,” a stunned Hall said. “It doesn’t seem real.”

The 22-year-old and her mother were grocery shopping when the two stopped for gas and a bag of ice.

Sunset Market #0006, 141 Highway 41 in Ringgold, sold the lucky ticket.

“I was freaking out,” Hall said.

The lucky lottery winner, at the moment, has no immediate plans for her windfall.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
