Whitfield County man drafts $20,000 prize

Monday, April 9, 2012

ATLANTA – A Whitfield County man is feeling on top with a prize from the Georgia Lottery. Steven Nicholson of Dalton was selected as a weekly winner from the $3,000,000 Taxes Paid Weekly Extra Chance drawings, taking home $20,000 after taxes.

“I haven’t slept a wink,” said Nicholson, 44. “I feel ecstatic.”

The lucky lottery winner anticipates purchasing a new vehicle and paying off bills.

The Georgia Lottery instant game $3,000,000 Taxes Paid is loaded with cash prizes of up to $3 million after taxes.

Players can submit non-winning tickets for entry into the $3,000,000 Taxes Paid Weekly Extra Chance Drawings for a chance to win $20,000 after taxes. Drawings are held on Wednesdays.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.1 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
