ATLANTA – A Columbus man has won the lottery head on. Charles Claybrooks won a $15,000 top prize playing $15,000 Football Fever, a Georgia Lottery instant game, while on his way to get a haircut. Claybrooks, 18, stopped at CITGO Food Store #0201, 2362 S. Lumpkin Road in Columbus, and purchased a ticket. He scratched it in the parking lot of the barbershop. "I was surprised," he said. "I turned around and went home." Claybrooks, who recently enlisted in the Army, plans to purchase a new car. "I am quite excited," he exclaimed. Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.1 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program. Play Responsibly – It's All About Fun!
