ATLANTA – A Dawsonville man has planned a happy holiday season for his 6-year-old daughter thanks to a quarter-million dollar win from the Georgia Lottery. Bobby Taylor, 52, matched the first five winning numbers in the Oct. 13 Mega Millions drawing, winning a $250,000 prize. "She's going to have a great Christmas," said Taylor, a geotechnical field engineer. Winning numbers from the Oct. 13 Mega Millions drawing were: 17-31-34-45-51 and the Mega Ball was 24. The second prize ticket was purchased at A A Food Mart, 1925 W. Broad St. in Athens. He used a combination of birthdays and Quik Pik numbers. "I made sure I watched the drawing," he said. Taylor also intends to purchase a new washer and dryer, a new car and boat with his prize. "The feeling is indescribable," he exclaimed. "I can't sit still." Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program. Play Responsibly – It's All About Fun!
