ATLANTA – A woman from College Park has snapped up a new crossover utility vehicle courtesy of the Georgia Lottery. Hattie Gaston, 77, played the instant game Cadillac Riches and instantly won a brand new Cadillac.
Georgia Lottery representatives presented Gaston with the keys to her new 2012 Cadillac SRX Crossover Monday at Heritage Cadillac, 7134 Jonesboro Road in Morrow.
“I love everything about it,” she said. “It is so sharp, and it just tells you everything.”
Quick Save Food Mart #2, 1270 Cleveland Ave. in East Point, sold the lucky ticket.
Gaston and her husband, Henry, are grandparents of five and have one adult son.
Retired three years, the lucky winner plans to travel.
“I’ll probably take a trip to my hometown in Alabama, and I’ll drive it on Sundays,” she said.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
