ATLANTA – A Moultrie man, who builds ice machines, has crunched the numbers and won thousands. Justin Gray, 19, won a $35,000 top prize playing $35,000 Super Score, a Georgia Lottery instant game.
Gray had just gotten off work when he stopped at US Food Mart, 3025 S. Main St. in Moultrie, for a soda and the ticket.
"I scratched it in the car and didn't know what to think," he said. "I had to leave, I was so happy."
He and his wife, Ashley, have a 1-year-old daughter. Gray anticipates purchasing a new truck and will set aside money for his daughter's future.
"It still hasn't sunk in," he said in disbelief.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 940,000 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
