ATLANTA – A Brooklet auto mechanic caught a lucky “brake” with a $25,000 Georgia Lottery prize. Gordon Bowen, 43, played the instant game Tattoo Doubler and won a top prize.
“I was out making my usual afternoon coffee run,” he said.
Zip-N-Food #0001, 8700 Highway 67 in Brooklet, sold the winning ticket, and Bowen scratched it in his car.
“It was exciting,” he said. “My wife was there, too. She’s the one who flipped out.”
Bowen and his wife, Angie, intend to invest their winnings.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
