ATLANTA – A man who recently moved to Georgia has struck a Fantasy 5 jackpot prize. Michael Kelley moved to Suwanee a month ago and is one of two players each to win a $192,349 Fantasy 5 prize from the April 2 drawing.
“It’s exciting,” Kelley exclaimed.
Winning numbers from the April 2 drawing were: 2-8-15-22-35. Publix Super Market #0615, 1000 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Suwanee, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. The second jackpot winning ticket was sold in Dacula.
Kelley, 58, said he bought the ticket and folded it up. A store clerk shared the good news when he returned to check the winning numbers.
“I was jumping around. It was a big surprise,” he said. “I was stunned for an hour.”
Feeling good about his lottery win, Kelley anticipates purchasing a new home.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Publix will share an $8,000 retailer incentive bonus.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
