Woodbury woman fills up with $75,000 in winnings

Friday, April 9, 2010

ATLANTA – A Woodbury woman was out getting gas when she won a Georgia Lottery prize. Chrystal Crawford, 30, won a $75,000 top prize playing Happy Mother’s Day, an instant game.

She purchased the ticket at White House Food Mart, 12341 White House Road in Woodbury, and was in the car when she scratched it.

“I was shocked. I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

A caregiver of 2-year-olds, Crawford said she plans to purchase a new car.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.4 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
