ATLANTA – A large-scale Georgia Lottery prize has arrived for an Effingham County office assistant. Melissa Arnsdorff of Guyton has won a $1 million prize playing the popular instant game Maximum Green.
Arnsdorff, 28, claimed her lucky prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Savannah after purchasing her ticket over the weekend.
She purchased her ticket at Chu’s Convenience Store, 2606 U.S. Highway 80 W. in Garden City, on her way home from work and scratched it in her car.
“I called my husband and daughter and told them,” she said.
Once home, she and her husband, Matthew, and their 8-month-old daughter, celebrated.
“It feels really good,” Arnsdorff exclaimed.
With the windfall, the Arnsdorffs anticipate paying off their current home mortgage to purchase a new home.
Maximum Green is an instant game loaded with top prizes of up to $5 million.
Georgia Lottery players can enter non-winning tickets in the monthly Maximum Green Extra Chance Drawings to win one of 10 monthly prizes of $10,000. Visit www.galottery.com for more information.
