$56,000 win funds College Park man’s family reunion

ATLANTA – A Fantasy 5 win will allow one College Park man to embrace all of his family members this summer with a family reunion. Willie Wright, 60, won a $56,150 jackpot prize and plans to host the reunion since matching all five winning numbers in the May 8 Fantasy 5 drawing.

“It’s exuberating,” he exclaimed. “It couldn’t have come at a better time.”

Winning numbers from the May 8 drawing were: 14-29-32-33-39. Wright watched the televised drawing as his winning numbers were drawn.

“I was watching, but I wasn’t paying attention until my wife told me that those were my numbers,” he said.

A local truck driver, Wright and his wife, Verlie, have three adult sons and six grandchildren. He anticipates hosting the reunion in July.

Stone Gate Bottle Shop, 6159 Old National Highway in Atlanta, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.

Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Stone Gate Bottle Shop will receive a $2,000 retailer incentive bonus.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
