ATLANTA – A Decatur woman is riding the wave of lottery luck and has taken off with a jackpot prize playing Fantasy 5. Exie Evans, 51, is one of two players each to win a $118,452 jackpot prize from the May 2 drawing.
The windfall is a big splash for the grandmother of six.
“I can pay off the new car that I just bought,” Evans exclaimed.
Quick Stop, 3690 Flat Shoals Road in Decatur, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. Winning numbers from the May 2 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 4-10-13-28-35. The second winning ticket was purchased in Auburn.
Evans is a family service worker for the Division of Family and Children Services and a mother of three adult children.
She watched the televised drawing and wrote down the numbers as they were drawn.
“I went to check my ticket, and I had to sit for a minute,” she recalled. “I did what felt like a couple of flips.”
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Quick Stop will receive a $3,000 retailer incentive bonus.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned more than $11.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
