Marietta mother of 4 comes home with $610,000

ATLANTA – A Marietta mother of four is linked to a lucky lottery win. Jennifer Smith, 43, has won a $610,119 Fantasy 5 jackpot prize from matching all five winning numbers in the June 5 drawing.

“It’s just hard to get my mind around that kind of money,” she exclaimed.

Winning numbers from the June 5 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 1-10-21-24-36. RaceTrac #0328, 2337 Canton Road in Marietta, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.

Smith’s brother checked her numbers at the store. When he shared the good news, she checked them again on the Georgia Lottery’s website.

“I thought he was lying,” she said. “I was just stunned. It’s hard to believe.”

Smith, a homeschooler, said she purchased the ticket on a whim. She and her husband, Mark, have four children, ages 16, 14, 11 and 9.

At the moment, she has no plans for her lottery win.

Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. RaceTrac will receive a $10,000 retailer incentive bonus.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $11.7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.2 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
