ATLANTA – A father of four has won more than a half-million dollar prize playing the Georgia Lottery’s Fantasy 5. George Patterson, who lives in Chattanooga, Tenn., won a $557,385 jackpot prize from matching all five winning numbers in the June 15 Fantasy 5 drawing.
While he won just before Father’s Day, Patterson intends to share his prize.
“I’ve got four daughters, and I will give it to them,” said Patterson, 72. “I’m going to watch them enjoy it. It’s the right thing to do.”
Winning numbers from the June 15 Fantasy 5 drawing were 12-15-23-29-35. Sunset Market #0003, located at 600 Chickamauga Road in Rossville, sold the winning ticket.
In addition to sharing with his daughters, who are ages 50, 46, 42 and 37, Patterson anticipates purchasing a new car for himself. The lucky lottery winner lives with his wife, Ada Pearl, and has worked 53 years for The Rock-Tenn Co.
“I’m just thankful I was able to win,” he shared. “Today is my day.”
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Sunset Market #0003 will receive a $10,000 retailer incentive bonus.
