ATLANTA – Although the wedding is in October, a groom-to-be from Coffee County already has unwrapped a special prize from the Georgia Lottery. Justin Merritt of Douglas won a $400,000 prize playing the instant game 20X The Money.
Merritt, 31, claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.
While buying a Coke, Merritt decided to purchase the ticket at BP Stop #0001, 921 Ward St. W. in Douglas.
“I was amazed,” Merritt described upon scratching it.
An X-ray technician, the lucky winner feels great about winning his prize.
“This will get us off to a nice start,” he shared.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
