Excavator Uncovers $150,000 Win on Giant Jumbo Bucks

Thursday, February 10, 2005

ATLANTA - A Jasper excavator is digging up more than the usual rocks and dirt after a lucky lottery win. Donnie Passmore has unearthed the $150,000 top prize on the Georgia Lottery instant game Giant Jumbo Bucks.

Buddy's Food Mart, located at 2880 Canton Hwy. in Ball Ground, sold the lucky ticket.

Mr. Passmore, 41, scratched the ticket at the store and says, "I thought it was a misprint." After confirmation from the retailer, Mr. Passmore celebrated his lottery win.

"I'm going to pay off my home and truck," says Mr. Passmore, who runs an excavating service with his brothers.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
