ATLANTA – A Moultrie man is celebrating a Georgia Lottery win. Jeremiah Hilton, 28, won a $100,000 top prize playing the instant game $100,000 Monte Carlo.
Circle N, located at 1607 Camilla Highway in Moultrie, sold the winning ticket.
“I was jumping up and down and screaming,” Hilton said. “The customers were in shock, too.”
With his windfall, Hilton anticipates purchasing a tombstone for his mother’s burial plot and buying a new car.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
