ATLANTA – A pair of roommates have won a substantial prize from the Georgia Lottery. Angel Thiel and Glenn Golob of Savannah have won a $7 million top prize playing the instant game $7 Million Jackpot.
Thiel, 33; and Golob, 48, both claimed their share recently at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Savannah.
A certified nursing assistant, Thiel purchased the lucky ticket at Abercorn BP, 10401 Abercorn St. in Savannah.
“I felt like this (ticket) was the lucky one,” she said.
Winning the prize “didn’t sink in right away” as Thiel scratched it in the store.
“I put it in my pocket and went to work,” she said.
The lucky winner shared the good news – and a portion of the prize – with her roommate, Golob, the following day.
“I thought she was teasing me. I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
The Georgia Lottery instant game $7 Million Jackpot is loaded with prizes of up to $7 million.
Players can enter non-winning tickets into the $7 Million Jackpot Second Chance promotion for an extra chance to win $7 million. For more information, visit www.galottery.com.
