ATLANTA – A Lizella woman is celebrating a win from the Georgia Lottery. Jackie Tingle, 67, won a $1 million prize playing the instant game $100 Million Cash Blast.
Tingle claimed her prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Macon.
She purchased her winning ticket at Kwickie/Flash #0226, 1194 Forsyth St. in Macon.
A legal secretary, Tingle purchased the ticket while on her lunch break.
“I scratched it in the car,” she explained. “I was riding, and my son was driving.”
Shocked and surprised at her discovery, the pair pulled to the side of the road.
“I was going back to work,” she said. “Of course I’m excited and happy.”
Tingle and her husband, James, have no immediate plans for the windfall.
“I don’t know yet, maybe a nest egg kind of thing,” she said. “I think it’s amazing.”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
