Friday, October 19, 2012

ATLANTA – A winning ticket worth $1 million was sold in Woodstock. AMPM Woodstock Convenience Store, located at 12152 Highway 92 in Woodstock, sold the winning Powerball ticket.

The winner, Chadwick Steelman of Marietta, matched the first five winning numbers from the Sept. 26 Powerball drawing and claimed his prize Oct. 3 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Winning numbers from the Sept. 26 drawing were: 13-26-39-41-42 and the Powerball was 10.

Saturday’s Powerball jackpot drawing is at an estimated $80 million to a single annuity winner.

As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
