ATLANTA – A Temple woman is all set to celebrate the holidays with a win from the Georgia Lottery. Jennifer Denton, 42, won a $25,000 top prize playing the holiday-themed instant game Jingle Bucks.
“I was in disbelief,” Denton recalled after scratching the winning ticket in her car. “I went back inside to check it to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating.”
Denton and her husband, Donnie, have two daughters in high school. The lucky winner anticipates using a portion of her windfall to enroll them into a college.
Discount Smokes & Beer, located at 733 W. Bankhead Highway in Villa Rica, sold the winning ticket.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
