ATLANTA – A granddad from Vidalia has unwrapped a weighty prize from the Georgia Lottery in time for the holidays. Robert Vinson, a grandfather of two, won a $25,000 top prize from the holiday-themed Jingle Bucks instant game.
Vinson, 46, claimed his prize recently at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Savannah.
Pick N Move, 2208 Center Drive in Vidalia, sold the winning ticket, and Vinson scratched it in the store.
“I said, ‘This can’t be real!’ So I looked at it again,” he recalled. “The guy who owns the store screamed more than I did.”
Vinson, who is married with three adult children, is a gas company dispatcher.
He has no plans at the moment for his windfall.
