Winning ticket worth $250K sold in Dade County

ATLANTA – A winning Mega Millions ticket worth a quarter of a million dollars was sold in Dade County. Kangaroo Express #3560, located at 5091 Highway 136 in Trenton, sold a winning ticket worth $250,000 from the Nov. 27 Mega Millions drawing.

The winner, Charles Armstrong of Odenville, Ala., matched the first five winning numbers from the drawing. Armstrong claimed his prize recently at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Winning numbers from the Nov. 27 Mega Millions drawing were: 5-12-26-42-49 and the Mega Ball was 24.

Zippy Vonier of Thomasville has claimed the drawing’s $50 million jackpot prize.

Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is at an estimated $35 million to a single annuity winner. Tickets are $1 per play.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $13.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
