ATLANTA – An Albany resident is all smiles as a Fantasy 5 top prize winner. Lynn Barney won $266,540 as one of two players to match all five winning numbers in Monday’s Fantasy 5 drawing.
Mr. Barney smiled brightly while claiming his prize at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta on Tuesday. According to Mr. Barney, he watched Monday’s drawing, memorized the winning numbers, and compared them to his ticket.
“I was just surprised. I couldn’t believe that I had all five numbers,” he shares. “I kept calling the lottery hotline to make sure.”
Mr. Barney, 52, will pay off his home and his mother’s car. He also plans to purchase a new vehicle for his 17-year-old daughter.
The winning numbers for Monday’s Fantasy 5 drawing were: 9-16-17-23-34. Mr. Barney purchased his Quik Pik ticket at Flash Foods #0285, located at 2701 Gillionville Rd. in Albany. The second top prize ticket for Monday’s Fantasy 5 drawing was sold in East Point.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Flash Foods will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $6,000.
