Douglas woman wins $3 million

Monday, February 4, 2013

ATLANTA – A Douglas woman is Georgia’s newest millionaire. Vickie Gasque, 59, won $3 million playing the new Georgia Lottery instant game 100X The Money.

Gasque purchased her lucky ticket Saturday at Baker Express, located at 1436 Baker Highway W., Douglas.

She scratched the ticket at the store and described her and her husband’s reactions as “unbelief.”

Gasque and her husband, Clarence, have six children.

The general manager of a manufacturing plant, Gasque doesn’t know how she will use her winnings but said she may retire.

100X The Money is a new instant game with prizes up to $3 million. Gasque is the game’s first top prize winner.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14 billion to the state of Georgia for education.
