Sylvania man wins lofty $1M prize

ATLANTA – A Sylvania man has won a $1 million prize from the Georgia Lottery. Virgil Jenkins, 44, played the instant game Millionaire Jingle Jumbo Bucks and won a $1 million prize.

Jenkins purchased the ticket on Valentine’s Day after taking his wife, Talondria, out to dinner.

Ace Stop N Shop, located at 495 E. Frontage Road in Sylvania, sold it.

“I scratched it in the store, and I hollered,” the lucky winner said. “I shared the news with my wife, and she was thrilled.”

With two children, the couple anticipate purchasing a new home.

Millionaire Jingle Jumbo Bucks is a Georgia Lottery instant game loaded with cash prizes of up to $3 million.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program.
