ATLANTA – Samuel Burnham of Anniston, Ala., won the $214,195 jackpot prize from the Feb. 24 Fantasy 5 drawing. Burnham, 64, matched all five winning numbers from the drawing to clinch the top prize.
Robinson & Sons, 14 Commerce Place in Tallapoosa, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.
Winning numbers from the Feb. 24 drawing were: 6-16-25-28-31.
A retired auto mechanic, Burnham claimed his prize at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Columbus.
“It’s wonderful,” the grandfather of five said. “Now my grandkids will get to go to college.”
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
