Butts County man snaps up $92K for birthday

Monday, March 11, 2013

ATLANTA – A Butts County man has picked a winning Georgia Lottery ticket worth thousands in time for his birthday later this month. Jerry Johnson of Jenkinsburg, who will celebrate his 54th birthday, is one of four winners each to land a $92,236 jackpot prize playing the Feb. 28 Fantasy 5 drawing.

“It’s a good birthday present,” the grandfather of eight exclaimed.

Winning numbers from the Feb. 28 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 6-15-18-21-33.

Stark Road Chevron, 780 Covington St. in Jackson, sold the winning ticket. Other jackpot winning tickets were sold in Canton, Jesup and Sugar Hill.

“I could tell they were some good numbers,” Johnson said of his decision to play. “I checked while on the Georgia Lottery’s website. I saw the number, and I was shocked.”

Screaming, the lucky winner couldn’t believe he’d won.

“I’m going to pay off all of my bills and buy a home,” Johnson shared. “It feels good, I tell you!”
