Lucky winner hits $250K prize in Tallapoosa

ATLANTA – Presley Coleman of Birmingham, Ala., matched the first five numbers from the Jan. 25 Mega Millions drawing, winning a $250,000 prize.

Pilot Travel Center #0312, 882 Georgia Highway 100 in Tallapoosa, sold the Quik Pik ticket.

Winning numbers from the Jan. 25 Mega Millions drawing were: 11-12-17-31-48 and the Mega Ball was 1.

Recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Coleman anticipates paying off his car note, mortgage and donating to a charity.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
