ATLANTA – Winning a newly minted half-million dollar prize is golden, according to one Cartersville automotive restoration specialist. Jeffrey Carroll, who will celebrate his 41st birthday July 18, won $500,000 playing Jumbo Jumbo Bucks.
“I was out getting gas, and I just decided to take my chance,” he explained.
Short & Easy, 429 Grassdale Road in Cartersville, sold the winning ticket. Carroll scratched his lucky ticket in the station’s parking lot.
“I got down to the last line, and I saw that one of my numbers matched,” he said. “It was a shock.”
Carroll, who has one adult daughter, expects to have a special birthday celebration this year.
“I plan to just pay off bills and take a vacation,” he shared. “I’m lucky.”
