ATLANTA – A Baxley man is celebrating a “jumbo” Georgia Lottery prize. Juan Cortes, 34, played the popular instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic and won $50,000.
Friendly Express #87, located at 102 Broadhurst Road W. in Screven, sold the lucky top prize ticket.
Cortes was in the area on business when he purchased the ticket, which he scratched in the store.
“It’s hard to describe,” he said. “You kind of fade out when you see those numbers.”
Cortes, who owns a landscape products business, plans to save his winnings.
