ATLANTA – A Columbus woman is footloose and fancy free with a $400,000 prize from the Georgia Lottery. Whitney Lewis, 25, played the instant game $400,000 Grant and won a top prize.
She and her husband, Kefrin, claimed the prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Columbus.
The mother of three purchased the ticket at a Georgia Lottery instant ticket vending machine at Summit #0054, 2218 Victory Drive in Columbus.
“I put money into the machine, and it came out,” Lewis said. “When we saw what we’d won, my husband and I just left.”
Winning the lottery is surreal, the lucky winner explained.
“It hasn’t hit us. It’s still shocking,” Lewis said.
A local grocery seafood clerk, Lewis anticipates purchasing a new home for her family.
