ATLANTA – One lucky lady is celebrating since grabbing a grand Georgia Lottery prize in Dublin. Leasley Taylor of Dublin, 45, won a $50,000 top prize playing the popular instant game Jumbo Bucks Classic.
Taylor, a housekeeper, stopped for gas at Jet Food Store #0025, 1720 Claxton Dairy Road in Dublin, where she purchased the ticket.
“I went home, but I was still in the car when I scratched it,” the mother of two recalled. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Feeling good about her windfall, Taylor intends to pay off bills.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
