Atlanta retail manager wins $240,000 playing Fantasy 5

ATLANTA – One Atlanta retail manager is seeing green since winning a prize from the Georgia Lottery. Kevin Dolan, whohas worked 11 years for a food and facilities management company, matched all five winning numbers from the July 19 Fantasy 5 drawing and is one of four players to each win a $240,756 jackpot prize.

“I can’t believe that it actually happened,” said a stunned Dolan after claiming his prize.

Winning numbers from the July 19 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 2-8-16-25-31. The other jackpot winning tickets were sold in Gainesville, Dawsonville and Alpharetta.

Publix Super Market #0599, located at 1544 Piedmont Ave. N.E. in the Ansley Mall Shopping Center in Atlanta, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.

Dolan. 42, discovered his win while checking his numbers on the Georgia Lottery’s website.

“I had to look three times,” he said. “I couldn’t believe it.”

The lucky lottery winner has a number of uses planned for his windfall.

“I want to donate to an Atlanta homeless shelter and do what I can for them,” he shared. “I want to help out one of my best friends and put away for retirement.”

Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 jackpot tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning jackpot ticket is sold, the retailers selling the winning jackpot tickets will share the bonus. Publix will receive a $3,500 retailer incentive bonus.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $11.9 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.25 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
