ATLANTA – One winner has claimed a Powerball prize worth $1 million from the May 15 drawing. The winning ticket, matching the first five winning numbers, was sold at QuikTrip #713R, 1350 S. Cobb Drive S.E. in Marietta.
The winner, James Norris of Marietta, claimed his prize Wednesday at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.
Winning numbers from the May 15 Powerball drawing were: 2-11-26-34-41 and the Powerball was 32.
Two winning tickets worth $1 million were sold from the May 18 Powerball drawing at RaceTrac #0543 in Canton and Corner Cupboard #0003 in Columbus.
Those winners have not yet come forward to claim their prize. Powerball winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
Winning numbers from the May 18 Powerball drawing were: 10-13-14-22-52 and the Powerball was 11.
Saturday’s jackpot is at an estimated $50 million to a single annuity winner.
Powerball tickets are $2 per play. Players can add the Power Play feature for an additional $1 per play.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Powerball will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
