Winning tickets worth $319K sold in Ashburn, Quitman

ATLANTA – Two lucky Georgia Lottery winners matched all five numbers from the May 24 Fantasy 5 drawing, each winning a $319,327 jackpot prize. Busy Corner, located at 106 E. Monroe Ave. in Ashburn, is where one of the winning jackpot tickets was sold.

Melissa Woodruff, 46, of Sycamore selected her own lucky combination and was in “total shock” when she discovered she won. A licensed practical nurse, the married mother of two anticipates remodeling her home.

The second jackpot winning ticket was sold at Quick Stop, 812 E. Screven St. in Quitman.

Patricia Patterson, a resident of Perry, Fla., selected a Quik Pik ticket to win her prize.

Both winners claimed their prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

Winning numbers from the May 24 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 9-17-21-23-31.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
