ATLANTA – Bernie Jackson of LaGrange is floating on air since winning a breathless half-million dollar Georgia Lottery prize. Jackson, 64, played the new instant game Lucky Bucks, winning a $500,000 top prize.
The winnings will help with the purchase of a new home.
“We’re in the process of buying a home,” said Jackson, who lives in LaGrange with his wife, Constance. “Now we can do what we want.”
BP Quick Change, 101 Lukken Industrial Drive W. in LaGrange, sold the winning ticket.
Jackson and his wife were together when they discovered the prize.
“Both of us were speechless,” said Jackson, who works as a shift leader. “It was a happy day.”
The lucky winner claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery’s District Office in Columbus.
