Wheeler County woman wins $100K prize

Thursday, June 6, 2013

ATLANTA – A Wheeler County woman is celebrating a win from the Georgia Lottery. Antonia Brown of Glenwood won a $100,000 prize playing the instant game 50X The Money.

Brown, 36, purchased her lucky ticket at Flash Foods #0108, 101 W. Second Ave. in Glenwood, and scratched it in the store.

“I couldn’t believe it,” the mother of two exclaimed.

She intends to pay off bills with her winnings.

The Georgia Lottery instant game 50X The Money is loaded with prizes of up to $1 million.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.4 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
