Friday, June 21, 2013

ATLANTA – A lucky Emanuel County woman has won a sizeable prize from the Georgia Lottery. Annie Ruth Boatwright of Twin City won a $40,000 top prize playing the instant game Silver & Gold.

Boatwright, 58, purchased her winning ticket at On the Go #0027, 411 N. Second St. in Stillmore, and scratched it in her car.

“Great is how I feel, really great,” she exclaimed.

A housekeeper, the mother of five with her husband, Johnnie, anticipates remodeling her home.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.3 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
