Two Lucky Georgia Lottery Players Start Week as New Millionaires

Tuesday, April 5, 2005

ATLANTA – The week is off to a spectacular start with two Georgia Lottery players winning the $1 million top prize on $100 Million Cash Spectacular. Danny Causey of Macon and Ralph Scott of Conley arrived at Georgia Lottery headquarters within minutes of each other on Monday morning as Georgia’s newest millionaires.

While purchasing gas, Mr. Causey noticed another customer celebrating a Georgia Lottery instant game win. He decided to try a $100 Million Cash Spectacular ticket and was shocked by what he saw.

“As I started scratching off the ticket, I saw a bunch of zeros!” exclaims Mr. Causey, a construction worker. “I can’t believe it.”

Mr. Causey, 40, immediately shared the news with his wife. He says that he will carefully decide how to spend his prize. “I haven’t made any plans yet. The most important thing is doing the right thing for my family.”

Mr. Causey purchased his winning ticket at Fastee Foods #0002, located at 3786 Log Cabin Dr. in Macon.

When Mr. Scott scratched his lucky ticket, he was surprised to see that he held a top prize million-dollar ticket. “I could not believe that I had won,” he says.

Mr. Scott checked the Georgia Lottery’s Web site to look for information on his ticket and to check on the prize amount.

According to Mr. Scott, 39, he is still deciding how he will spend his winnings.

Mr. Scott purchased his ticket at Tabos Enterprises, located at 415 Lee St. in Jefferson.

To date, Georgia Lottery players have won more than $133 million on $100 Million Cash Spectacular. Ten $1 million top prizes have been claimed.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corporation has returned over $7.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs. These include Georgia’s HOPE scholarship program; a statewide, voluntary pre-kindergarten program for four-year-olds; and a wide range of technological and capital upgrades for the state’s schools, technical institutes, colleges, universities and public libraries.
