Jumping for joy: Rome man wins $215K Fantasy 5 prize

ATLANTA – One Rome man is enjoying a jackpot prize linked to a recent Fantasy 5 drawing. William C. Cameron III, 68, is one of two players each to win a $215,694 jackpot prize from matching all five numbers from the July 17 Fantasy 5 drawing.

Cameron, a grandfather of two, claimed his prize Thursday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.

The lucky winner discovered his prize while watching the televised drawing.

“I was dumbfounded,” Cameron said. “I didn’t sleep. It was a big adrenaline rush.”

Kangaroo Express #3655. 2401 Garden Lakes Blvd. N.W. in Rome, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. The second jackpot winning ticket was sold in Atlanta.

The father of two adult daughters with his wife, Earlene, anticipates traveling with family.

Winning numbers from the July 17 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 2-11-13-15-27.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
