Thursday, August 1, 2013

ATLANTA – One Riverdale man has welcomed a whopping $400,000 Georgia Lottery prize with a big ‘Whoo-hoo!’ Travis Canady, 51, won his top prize playing the instant game $400,000 Grant.

The lucky winner claimed his prize recently at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta.

Shell, 2275 Jonesboro Road in Fairburn, sold the winning ticket.

Canady was sitting in his car when he scratched the lucky ticket.

“I didn’t believe what I saw,” he explained. “I asked, ‘Is this me?’ ”

A senior lab technician, Canady anticipates paying off an existing car note and purchasing a new car. He also plans to pay off bills.
