ATLANTA – One Statesboro woman has tracked a Georgia Lottery win and is thrilled with her newly minted prize. Sylvia Ellison, 41, won a $77,777 prize playing the instant game Silver 7’s.
“I just took a chance. I just picked one,” explained Ellison, a mother of two.
Time Saver, 301 N. Main St. in Statesboro, sold the winning ticket.
“I took it home and scratched it off,” she said. “I’m just glad.”
Ellison, who works at a mental health facility, plans to save her winnings.
The Georgia Lottery instant game Silver 7’s is loaded with cash prizes of up to $377,777.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
