Augusta store sells winning ticket worth $500K

ATLANTA – An Augusta store has sold a winning ticket worth a half-million dollars from a new Georgia Lottery instant ticket. Comet Gas and Service Center, located at 2320 Peach Orchard Road in Augusta, sold a winning ticket worth $500,000 from the Right on the Money instant game.

The winner, Nicole Williams of Augusta, claimed her prize Sept. 27 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Augusta.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
