ATLANTA - While eating breakfast on his way to work, Carlton Ransey decided to check his Fantasy 5 ticket from the previous night's drawing. The Fitzgerald resident quickly realized he had in his possession a winning Fantasy 5 ticket worth $523,691 for the May 26 drawing.
The winning numbers for the May 26 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 7-8-15-28-30.
Mr. Ransey stated that his "heart was pounding" as he matched his numbers against the winning number report he had requested from a local GLC retailer. "I wiped my eyes to make sure I was reading the numbers correctly and then I asked another gentleman in the store if he could do me a favor and take a quick look," he said.
Mr. Ransey, 36, is an employee of Pace American, Inc. He says he will use the money to "take care of his family" and "take a couple of cruises to places that I have dreamed about going."
The Quik Pik ticket was purchased at Short Stop Minit Mart in Fitzgerald. Short Stop Minit Mart is located at 816 East Sultana Drive.
Georgia Lottery retailers selling winning Fantasy 5 tickets receive a retailer incentive bonus of $2,000. The retailer incentive bonus increases by $2,000 each time Fantasy 5 rolls. If more than one winning top prize ticket is sold, the retailers selling the top prize winning tickets will share the bonus. Short Stop Minit Mart will receive a retailer incentive bonus of $12,000.
